Grown in Tamil Nadu, our GOTS-certified organic cotton is selected for its softness and durability. Thanks to the expertise of our artisans and traditional weaving techniques, it becomes naturally non-slip, while respecting the environment and supporting local communities.

NATURAL LATEX

Taken from Hevea trees and meticulously applied with a brush to the entire underside of the carpet.
Some models with a more pronounced grip (Yama and Surya Pro) also receive a thin layer on top. Over time, you can use our latex refills to reinforce or maintain the grip of your mat, for lasting comfort and reliability.

MANUFACTURING

Each Mahola rug is the result of handcrafted work in Tamil Nadu, in southern India. We don't operate any factories; we work directly with weavers who perpetuate their traditional skills in the heart of their villages. The entire process relies on manual labor.

Our rug is designed to last for years, provided it receives the attention it deserves:

DAILY MAINTENANCE

For everyday cleaning, simply shaking the bottle or using a natural disinfectant spray is sufficient. If there's a stain, a light cleaning with a damp cloth is recommended. Be careful with harsh products (fabric softeners, stain removers, abrasive soaps, etc.).

REVIVE THE MEMBERSHIP

Over time and with washing, the grip (only under the carpet!) can diminish. Applying a thin layer of natural latex with a brush is enough to restore the original grip.

01 Qu’est-ce qu’un SAMBU ?

Il s’agit de notre série de tapis « végétaux », dédiée principalement à la respiration. Nous le recommandons comme tapis de méditation ou de pratique ultra douce (comme le Yin). Il est confectionné à partir d'herbe Dharba, une herbe tropicale sacrée d'Inde, reconnue pour ses propriétés spirituelles et purificatrices. Le toucher et l’odeur sont incroyables.
Il trouve très bien sa place dans une chambre à coucher, au pied du lit, pour des sessions de pranayama dynamisant au réveil ou une séance d’étirements avant de passer au lit.

02 Le tapis Jute SAMBU est-il adapté à une pratique dynamique ?

Le SAMBU est avant tout un tapis de méditation et de relaxation. Il n’est pas conçu pour des pratiques très dynamiques comme le Vinyasa ou l’Ashtanga. Sa texture naturelle en fibres végétales privilégie le confort, l’ancrage et la connexion au sol plutôt que l’adhérence intense.

03 En quoi l’herbe Dharba est-elle particulière ?

L’herbe Dharba est traditionnellement utilisée en Inde dans des rituels spirituels et des pratiques méditatives. Elle est associée à la purification et à l’élévation énergétique. Utilisée pour un tapis de yoga, elle apporte une dimension symbolique forte et un contact authentique avec une matière brute et sacrée.

04 Comment entretenir un tapis en fibres végétales ?

Le tapis Jute SAMBU étant composé de fibres naturelles, il ne doit pas être lavé en machine ni abondamment mouillé. Nous recommandons de l’aérer régulièrement et de le nettoyer délicatement à sec ou avec un chiffon légèrement humide si nécessaire. Évitez l’humidité excessive pour préserver la qualité des fibres.

05 Où et comment utiliser le tapis Jute SAMBU au quotidien ?

Le SAMBU trouve parfaitement sa place dans une chambre, un coin méditation ou un espace calme. Il peut être utilisé au réveil pour une séance de pranayama dynamisante, le soir pour des étirements doux, ou simplement comme support pour un moment de recentrage.
