    Grown in Tamil Nadu, our GOTS-certified organic cotton is selected for its softness and durability. Thanks to the expertise of our artisans and traditional weaving techniques, it becomes naturally non-slip, while respecting the environment and supporting local communities.

    • NATURAL LATEX

    Taken from Hevea trees and meticulously applied with a brush to the entire underside of the carpet.
    Some models with a more pronounced grip (Yama and Surya Pro) also receive a thin layer on top. Over time, you can use our latex refills to reinforce or maintain the grip of your mat, for lasting comfort and reliability.

    MANUFACTURING

    Each Mahola rug is the result of handcrafted work in Tamil Nadu, in southern India. We don't operate any factories; we work directly with weavers who perpetuate their traditional skills in the heart of their villages. The entire process relies on manual labor.

    Our commitment is complete:

    • Selection of organic cotton sourced from local farms,
    • Production of natural dyes using Ayurvedic plants,
    • Minimising the carbon footprint of the manufacturing process (0 Electricity)
    • Sustainable and secure contractual arrangementslabour

    CARE AND WASHING

    Our rug is designed to last for years, provided it receives the attention it deserves:

    WASHING

    • Machine washable (delicate cycle at 30°C recommended).
    • Use of a mild, natural laundry detergent
    • Wash separately, ideally in a protective bag to preserve the weave.

    DRYING

    • Lay flat, away from direct sunlight.
    • Avoid: sunlight, tumble dryers, radiators — which can damage plant-based dyes

    DAILY MAINTENANCE

    The natural, plant-based dyes used to color the cotton in our rugs possess antibacterial properties recognized in Ayurveda. They naturally limit the growth of bacteria. For daily cleaning, simply shaking the rug or using a natural disinfectant spray is sufficient. In case of stains, a light cleaning with a damp cloth is recommended. Avoid harsh products (fabric softeners, stain removers, abrasive soaps, etc.).

    REVIVE THE MEMBERSHIP

    Over time and with washing, the grip may diminish. Applying a thin layer of natural latex with a brush is enough to restore the original grip. In warm weather, lightly dampening your hands will improve the grip on the cotton.

    01 À quoi servent les bandes sur le KARMA ?

    Elles améliorent la stabilité des appuis et aident au bon positionnement du corps. De nombreuses marques utilisent des repères graphiques : chez MAHOLA, nous avons choisi des bandes reliéfées en coton, plus esthétiques et bien plus fonctionnelles.

    02 Quelle différence entre un KARMA et un YAMA ?

    Le KARMA se distingue par son esthétique forte, inspirée de la tradition indienne. Ses bandes horizontales décoratives apportent non seulement un style unique, mais servent également de repères pour améliorer l’alignement et soutenir les appuis pendant la pratique.
    Il est disponible en 3 mm, 5 mm et 7 mm :
    - Le 3 mm est idéal pour les yogis nomades ou pour pratiquer léger et stable.
    - Le 5 mm représente un parfait équilibre entre confort et légèreté, adapté à la plupart des pratiques.
    - Le 7 mm offre un confort supérieur, particulièrement agréable pour les séances au sol ou les pratiques douces.

    Le YAMA (7 mm), quant à lui, se distingue par son grip exceptionnel grâce à son tissage en quadrillage sur les extrémités. Il est particulièrement recommandé pour les pratiques dynamiques comme le Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Jivamukti, Kundalini, Power Flow ou même le Bikram, tout en garantissant un excellent confort.

    03 Peut-on laisser son tapis à vue dans la maison ?

    Oui.
    Le design harmonieux du KARMA “Chakra”, avec toutes ses couleurs, en fait un tapis esthétique qui peut être déployé dans votre salon ou chambre. Il devient à la fois un espace de pratique et un élément décoratif inspirant.

    04 Combien de fois dois-je laver mon tapis ?

    Combien de fois lavez-vous le manteau que vous mettez tous les jours pendant l’hiver ? Tout cela pour dire qu’il n’y a pas de vérité et que comme pour votre manteau, il vous faudra vous adapter aux situations. Comme pour votre manteau, il n’est pas nécessaire de la laver à chaque usage... Il faut donc garder en tête qu’il n’est pas bon de laver son tapis trop souvent. Pensez à pratiquer avec les pieds et les mains propres.
    Sur la base de notre expérience et des différents retours utilisateurs, nous arrivons à la recommandation suivante :
    - Yogis très actifs ( + de 4 séances par semaine, pratiques intenses, etc ...): une fois par mois.
    - Yogis réguliers ( 1 à 2 séances par semaine ) : une ou deux fois par an, à votre évaluation.

    05 Est-ce que le tapis glisse ?

    Non. La base antidérapante en latex naturel appliqué sur le tapis assure une excellente stabilité avec le sol.
