    Taken from Hevea trees and meticulously applied with a brush to the entire underside of the carpet.
    Some models with a more pronounced grip (Yama and Surya Pro) also receive a thin layer on top. Over time, you can use our latex refills to reinforce or maintain the grip of your mat, for lasting comfort and reliability.

    MANUFACTURING

    Each Mahola rug is the result of handcrafted work in Tamil Nadu, in southern India. We don't operate any factories; we work directly with weavers who perpetuate their traditional skills in the heart of their villages. The entire process relies on manual labor.

    Our commitment is complete:

    • Selection of organic cotton sourced from local farms,
    • Production of natural dyes using Ayurvedic plants,
    • Minimizing the carbon footprint of the manufacturing process (0 Electricity)
    • Sustainable and secure contractual arrangements

    CARE AND WASHING

    Our rug is designed to last for years, provided it receives the attention it deserves:

    WASHING

    • Machine washable (delicate cycle at 30°C recommended).
    • Use of a mild, natural laundry detergent
    • Wash separately, ideally in a protective bag to preserve the weave.

    DRYING

    • Lay flat, away from direct light.
    • Avoid: sunlight, tumble dryers, radiators — which can damage plant-based dyes

    DAILY MAINTENANCE

    The natural, plant-based dyes used to color the cotton in our rugs possess antibacterial properties recognized in Ayurveda. They naturally limit the growth of bacteria. For daily cleaning, simply shaking the rug or using a natural disinfectant spray is sufficient. In case of stains, a light cleaning with a damp cloth is recommended. Avoid harsh products (fabric softeners, stain removers, abrasive soaps, etc.).

    REVIVE MEMBERSHIP

    Over time and with washing, the grip may diminish. Applying a thin layer of natural latex with a brush is enough to restore the original grip. In warm weather, lightly dampening your hands will improve the grip on the cotton.

    01 Quelle différence entre le SURYA et le VIRAT ?

    Les deux modèles sont des tapis de yoga 3 mm adaptés au voyage et à l’extérieur.
    La différence principale réside dans la matière et le toucher :
    Le SURYA est fabriqué en coton recyclé. Il est légèrement plus rugueux, ce qui lui donne une adhérence plus franche.
    Le VIRAT est en coton biologique, avec un toucher plus doux et plus lisse.

    02 Peut-on utiliser le tapis SURYA en extérieur ?

    Oui.
    Le SURYA 3 mm est spécialement adapté à une utilisation en extérieur : terrasse, pelouse, plage ou retraite yoga. Son tissage résistant et serré le rend robuste et durable.
    C’est un tapis de yoga extérieur pratique, léger et facile à transporter.

    03 Est-ce qu’un tapis en coton recyclé est suffisamment confortable ?

    Oui, tout dépend de l’épaisseur choisie.
    Avec ses 3 mm, le SURYA privilégie la stabilité et la précision des appuis. Si vous recherchez davantage d’amorti pour les articulations, un modèle 5 mm ou 7 mm pourra être plus adapté.

    Le 3 mm reste cependant parfaitement confortable pour une pratique occasionnelle (vacances, dehors..), surtout si vous aimez ressentir le sol.

    04 Le tapis SURYA glisse-t-il sur le sol ?

    Non.
    Une fine couche de latex naturel est appliquée sous le tapis pour assurer une excellente stabilité au sol. Elle empêche le tapis de glisser pendant la pratique.

    05 Comment entretenir un tapis de yoga SURYA ?

    Pour l’entretien courant, nettoyez votre tapis avec un chiffon humide et un savon naturel doux.
    Pour un lavage plus profond :
    - lavage à la main ou en machine à froid (cycle délicat)
    - séchage à plat, à l’air libre et à l’ombre

    Il n’est pas recommandé de laver son tapis trop souvent. Comme un manteau que l’on porte régulièrement, il suffit de l’entretenir raisonnablement et de pratiquer avec les mains et les pieds propres.
