The VIRAT mat is designed to go everywhere with you. At 3 mm thick, it folds easily to slip into a sports bag, carry-on or tote. Its lightness in no way compromises its technical qualities: close to the ground, it offers excellent grounding and stability. Its sky blue colour, evoking serenity and the infinite expanse of the sky, is obtained from an Ayurvedic preparation based on Nochi. This medicinal plant is also known as "sarvaroganivarini", the remedy for all ailments.

Cultivated in Tamil Nadu, our GOTS-certified organic cotton is selected for its softness and durability. Thanks to the expertise of our artisans and traditional weaving, it naturally becomes non-slip while respecting the environment and helping local communities.

NATURAL LATEX

Harvested from rubber trees and meticulously applied with a brush to the entire underside of the mat.
Some models with a stronger grip (Yama and Surya Pro) also receive a thin layer on top. Over time, you can use our latex refills to reinforce or maintain your mat's grip for lasting comfort and reliability.

MANUFACTURING

Each Mahola rug is the result of handcrafted work in Tamil Nadu, in southern India. We don't operate any factories; we work directly with weavers who perpetuate their traditional skills in the heart of their villages. The entire process relies on manual labor.

Production of natural dyes using Ayurvedic plants,

CARE AND WASHING

Daily, after each practice, simply shake your mat. If necessary, you can wipe it with a slightly damp cloth, then let it air dry. Never roll up your mat while it's damp to prevent mold. Thanks to the naturally antibacterial properties of the plant dyes used, frequent washing is not necessary.

OCCASIONAL WASHING

A deeper cleaning can be considered occasionally: in case of an unusual odor, intensive use, or when you simply want to freshen it up.

Hand washing is recommended: cold water, short soak for 5 to 10 minutes maximum, ultra-natural detergent or soap nut powder. Wash gently, without aggressive scrubbing, then rinse thoroughly. Machine washing is possible only with caution: large capacity machine, very gentle cycle / hand wash, cold water or 30°C maximum, without ordinary detergent.

DRYING

Dry your mat flat or hung horizontally, always in the open air and in the shade. Absolutely avoid tumble dryers, radiators, and direct sun exposure, which can damage the plant dyes and latex.

REVIVING ADHESION

Over time and with washing, the latex may slightly lose its effectiveness. After several washes, if you feel that the grip is decreasing, apply a thin layer of natural latex with a brush, then let it air dry.
