    With its 7 mm thickness and relief bands, this mat guarantees excellent comfort and slip-free practice. Our natural "Karma" yoga mat is a true work of art manufactured in accordance with India's ancestral techniques. The pink shade is obtained through a preparation of around ten plants, notably madder. This plant was and remains an important element of ancient Indian religious rituals. It is prized for improving skin health and promoting body detoxification.

    Grown in Tamil Nadu, our GOTS-certified organic cotton is selected for its softness and durability. Thanks to the expertise of our artisans and traditional weaving techniques, it becomes naturally non-slip, while respecting the environment and supporting local communities.

    • NATURAL LATEX

    Taken from Hevea trees and meticulously applied with a brush to the entire underside of the carpet.
    Some models with a more pronounced grip (Yama and Surya Pro) also receive a thin layer on top. Over time, you can use our latex refills to reinforce or maintain the grip of your mat, for lasting comfort and reliability.

    MANUFACTURING

    Each Mahola rug is the result of handcrafted work in Tamil Nadu, in southern India. We don't operate any factories; we work directly with weavers who perpetuate their traditional skills in the heart of their villages. The entire process relies on manual labor.

    Our commitment is complete:

    • Selection of organic cotton sourced from local farms,
    • Production of natural dyes using Ayurvedic plants,
    • Minimising the carbon footprint of the manufacturing process (0 Electricity)
    • Sustainable and secure contractual arrangementslabour

    CARE AND WASHING

    Our rug is designed to last for years, provided it receives the attention it deserves:

    WASHING

    • Machine washable (delicate cycle at 30°C recommended).
    • Use of a mild, natural laundry detergent
    • Wash separately, ideally in a protective bag to preserve the weave.

    DRYING

    • Lay flat, away from direct sunlight.
    • Avoid: sunlight, tumble dryers, radiators — which can damage plant-based dyes

    DAILY MAINTENANCE

    The natural, plant-based dyes used to color the cotton in our rugs possess antibacterial properties recognized in Ayurveda. They naturally limit the growth of bacteria. For daily cleaning, simply shaking the rug or using a natural disinfectant spray is sufficient. In case of stains, a light cleaning with a damp cloth is recommended. Avoid harsh products (fabric softeners, stain removers, abrasive soaps, etc.).

    REVIVE THE MEMBERSHIP

    Over time and with washing, the grip may diminish. Applying a thin layer of natural latex with a brush is enough to restore the original grip. In warm weather, lightly dampening your hands will improve the grip on the cotton.

    Magnificent! I finally got my Mahola mat a month ago. I'd read about the brand but wanted to see it for myself before buying it. This mat is high-end: soft, comfortable, natural, and feels wonderful. Having several yoga mats at home, from various brands and not the cheapest ones, I couldn't stand the smell or the synthetic texture during floor exercises anymore, and I'd long dreamed of a mat made of good quality materials for everyday practice at home.     02 Puis-je utiliser un tapis MAHOLA pendant ma grossesse ?

    Oui, nous dirions même qu’il vaudrait mieux ne pas en utiliser un autre. Nos tapis sont 100% naturels, tissés en coton biologique, sans perturbateurs endocriniens, sans plastique, sans colle, ni solvant. Vous pouvez pratiquer en toute sérénité, sans risque pour votre bébé. Pour une pratique ultra confortable, nous vous recommandons un tapis de yoga 7 mm.

    03 Quel tapis est adapté pour un yoga doux (Yin, Hatha doux…) ?

    Forcément tous les tapis en 7mm sont des modèles avec un confort optimal pour les pratiques douces. Nous privilégierons cependant plus le Karma au Yama dont le grip très prononcé ne sera pas indispensable.

    04 Comment bien ranger un tapis de yoga ?

    La solution idéale est de le laisser votre tapis MAHOLA étendu et à portée de vue dans votre salon ou dans votre chambre. Il prendra part à l’ambiance de votre domicile et vous invitera tout naturellement à pratiquer plus régulièrement. C’est aussi cela le bon coté d’avoir un joli tapis yoga, on n’a plus besoin de le cacher dans le placard à chaussures !

    05 Le tapis est-il assez long et large ?

    Oui : environ 183 x 69 cm. Il apparaît pour nous comme le format idéal, car adapté à toutes les morphologies. Il est très agaçant pour une personne de grande taille de « manquer » de tapis, tout comme la disposition des appuis ne doit pas obliger une personne de petite taille à faire le grand écart.
    Il apparaît nécessaire de clarifier le terme « d'environ » 183 cm de longueur et 69 cm de largeur. En raison de la fabrication manuelle, nous donnons une tolérance de 2 cm sur la longueur pour nos artisans tisserands. Il peut donc y avoir une légère variation à la hausse ou à la baisse lorsque les tapis sortent des métiers à tisser. En revanche, la largeur est beaucoup plus stable du fait des dimensions des métiers à tisser.
